Overcoming the challenges posed by his disability, he immersed himself in speech therapy, reading, and improvised performance classes during his formative years. His compelling body of work delves into the profound struggles he encountered while growing up, offering a unique perspective that intertwines the past, present, and future.

In 2017, Philip's talent was recognized when a selection of his work was published in the esteemed Storytellers Journal, edited by the renowned Anna Fox. The following year, he received a prestigious commission to contribute to the thought-provoking "Towards the Consideration of all Bodies" series at the Lab Gallery, curated by Roisin Hackett.

Further recognition awaited Philip in 2019, as he became the recipient of the Arts Council of Ireland's Arts Disability Connect Award. This landmark achievement empowered him to embark on a transformative creative journey mentored by the acclaimed writer Arnold Tomas Fanning, author of "Mind on Fire."

In 2020, Philip's artistic talent shone through once again when he was commissioned by the Arts & Disability Ireland Curated Space to create a compelling film showcasing his spoken word performance, titled "Ode to Sweeney's."
